AVID Projects
I’ve been an Intern Architect at AVID Architecture since 2019, working on all stages of projects and helping manage their delivery. I have also been responsible for managing the office’s IT infrastructure, including the website and our 2020 switch to remote work during the pandemic.
This page includes select project work from my time at AVID, completed under the direction of AVID’s principal Cynthia Dovell and in collaboration with my coworkers. The project photos were taken by myself unless noted otherwise.
Ritchie Community Hall
I contributed to the schematic design of this community hall in Edmonton and developed the primary rendering.
Millennium Place Interior Improvements
I worked on the design development, contract documents, and contract admin for this interior renovation of a large rec centre in Sherwood Park, AB.
Lac Ste. Anne Métis Community Association Seniors’ Housing
I worked on the schematic design of this rural community for Métis seniors near Lac Ste. Anne. I worked closely with the project architect on gathering precedents, proposing a larger strategy for the site plan, and developing designs for 3 dwelling types and a central gathering space. I also met regularly with community members to determine their goals and get feedback on work-in-progress designs.
Louie’s Building Facade Renewal
I worked closely with the project architect developing the contract documents for the facade renewal of this vacant commercial building.
Boyle Street Community Services Renovation
I worked on developing the graphic presentation materials for this proposed renovation of Boyle Street Community Services’ now-former location.
Festival Place Facade and Box Office Renovation
I worked on the schematic design for refreshing the facade of Festival Place in Sherwood Park, AB. I also led the redesign of the box office area, better connecting it to the lobby and addressing issues around accessibility and crowding that staff had identified. Exterior photos by Lindsay Reid.
